Follow one programme and get a double degree!
All courses of the this programme can be studied through e-learning, from your home, your office or any other place of your choice. However, the programme also offers the possibility to study courses on campus in the Netherlands at UT/ITC,where you can choose from a wide range of elective courses.
If you choose for a mix of online courses and on campus courses, with 25% on campus at UT/ITC in the Netherlands, you will be awarded a double degree: Master of Science (MSc) in Geographical Information Science from Lund University / Geo-information Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente .
You If you decide to complete the entire programme online, you will be awarded a Master of Science degree (MSc) in Geographical Information Science from Lund University upon successful completion of all programme elements.
Accreditation
The degree programme is fully accredited under the partner universities and national regulations and under the laws of Sweden and the Netherlands. The programme leads to Master of Science (MSc) degrees according to the Bologna agreement of the European Union. When the requirements of both partner universities have been met (including the 25% or 30 ECTS study in the Netherlands as required by Dutch law), then a double MSc degree is awarded, issued by each degree awarding partner (Lund, UT/ITC) on the basis of the joint iGEON programme.
Stay in Enschede (the netherlands)
You can opt for a stay in the Netherlands for part of the programme. This will give you an international experience and a taste of the campus facilities. You will attend classes together with other international students and work in close collaboration with the professors and other teaching staff. Moreover, you can benefit from an even wider range of elective courses to choose from. Or you can benefit from the academic atmosphere and interaction with other researchers during your thesis research.

Certificates for individual courses
All courses in this programme can be followed as individual (short) courses. If you complete a course successfully, a certificate and a course record will be awarded. The credits (ECTS) of the individual courses are accepted in the other degree programmes at UT/ITC or Lund University. Check the course calendar for start dates of individual courses.
