You will also need any sort of Internet connection in order to communicate with the course coordinators/teachers and retrieve course material aswell as a camera, either installed in your laptop or a separate camera (e.g. skype camera).
We recommend Internet accessibility of at least 5 hour a week. If you do not have daily access to the Internet you could use, for example, “Internet-Cafés”.
Notes:
- If your computer has a different language installed then you can install the free English language pack from the Windows Update site. Notebooks that do not have an English operating system or language pack installed can not be helped by the Helpdesk. Supervised practicals also rely on an English user interface.
- Make sure you have a genuine installation of your operating system. Non genuine windows versions cannot be updated with the latest security updates. (Test it here.)
- Remove unnecessary software from your notebook before starting the iGEON programme. Demo or trial software can conflict with full software versions provided.
- Make sure not to install illegal software, because this will not be tolerated, access to the online learning platform will be denied.
